The day after Christmas....

I called 3 months ago to schedule Holdyn and Hadley's well baby check ups. The 1st available appointment they had for Hadley was Monday, December 26th and the next available one they had for Holdyn is in February!! I went ahead and scheduled them since they would be late anyways and to not delay them any longer. At the time, I didn't think about Hadley's appointment being the day after Christmas. Robbie is home for the holidays so I was glad that he was able to go with me. She is in the 30th percentile for her weight and height and she is in the 80th percentile for her head (big heads run on my side of the family... from birth and even now, Holdyns head measurment has always been off the charts!). The doctor said her weight and height are fine even though she is tiny for her age. He just said she is perfectly healthy and is just petite so everybody just needs to leave her alone!

They save the worst for last..... the shots. Makes mommy and daddy feel so bad but we know in the long run, it's the best thing for her and will keep her healthy!! Right after the shots, Nurse Lynee pulled out the bubbles (Holdyn calls her the bubble lady!) and after about 15 seconds, Hadley had forgotten about the shots and she was busy catching and popping bubbles!! She doesn't have to go back for a well baby visit until she is 3 and she won't have to get any shots then.. YAY!!!

Christmas 2011

What an amazing Christmas we had this year! Santa found us in our new home and brought the kids lots of fun things! MooMa, DooDa, MawMaw and Pops got to enjoy all of the excitment and the traditions that the children look forward too every year.

The classic Santa photo we get every year! This is the first year Holdyn was excited to go and got up there like a big boy and smiled so big!! Hadley.... well the picture speaks for itself ;)
Look what Santa brought Hadley!

Holdyn got lots of goodies too! He hasn't been able to ride his bike for the past few months because he went through a major growth spurt (mainly in height!) so Santa brought him a bigger bike!

Holdyn's stash!

For the past 6 months Holdyn has been asking for the Lego city police station. It has jail cells complete with cots and little toilets for the bad guys. It even has a place for the police dogs and little bones! He would have been happy as a clam just getting this! I think this was one of the incentives that lead Holdyn to go sit in Santa's lap so proudly and smile so big this year. He let santa know this is what he wanted and he has let everyone he has crossed paths with that this was what was VERY important to him!

Santa never forgets Bay and Hyres! They both finshed those 8 pieces of rawhide within 24 hours!

Sweet sister sound asleep on Christmas Eve waiting on Santa to come!

I think this made his day, week, month, and maybe even his entire year!

Hadley woke up after Holdyn. This is the first year she kinda figured out that toys were left for her. She wasn't too sure at first but then she saw some things and started pointing to her stash!

She didn't touch anything at first. She just kinda looked at all of it and had to take it all in!

Reading the 'structions' on the back... still amazed that Santa did actually bring the police station!

Hadley got her first bike!! I guess Santa thought since Holdyn got one, she should get one so they could ride together!

Hyres enjoying some rawhide from his stocking!

Daddy was so nice to help Holdyn build the police station. It only had 783 pieces!! He also was so nice to help him build the big lego police boat that Auntie and Uncle Fireman Joe sent him!

Holdyn has a little collapsable chair that he and Hadley fight over. Hadley got her own! It's a dinosaur chair but she is been calling it a 'Moose chair' or a 'Moo Cow Chair'... just depends on her mood what animal it is! She has really enjoyed sitting in it! It will be great to take to Holdyn's T-ball and soccer games this year!

Santa must have known Hadley starts school in August and has to have a bookbag. I must say he has very good taste and picked out an adorable one from pottery barn and he even had his elves monogram her name on it!!
The bag is bigger than her (haha!) but she loves carrying around bags!

Pops has a favorite picture of Hadley. It was the day he found out that he was going to have another grandchild (It's hard to tell but Hadley has her 'little cousin' shirt on). That evening we were all at Holdyn's soccer practice and I got a picture of her sitting on a soccer ball. Pops has always loved this picture and asked for this picture on a blanket for Christmas!

Holdyn playing with another police station from Auntie. She spoils him rotten!

Hadley was trying to give Holdyn a hug but he was too busy playing!

Hadley ran around the corner and said "Boo!"

Next Christmas we will be SO excited to have Auntie, Uncle Fireman Joe, and our new baby cousin, Mathis, with us. Don't worry... Auntie and I are already looking for matching PJs for Christmas and Christmas Eve for the 3 kiddos! Holdyn is excited to pick out toys for baby Mathis. He already told me that he would go and help me but we had to make sure that they were baby toys for BOYS! Can't wait to see what he picks out! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

The only thing I miss....

The only thing I miss about our old house was our neighbors. Emma is 2 months younger than Holdyn and Wylie is 2 months younger than Hadley. Emma and Holdyn saw each other on a daily basis. Ellen and I would feed them together, and bathe them together. With us both doing it together we got things done so fast and it was much eaiser. I miss our late night talks. She was at the exact point in life that I am and dealing with the same situations that I deal with since both of our kids were the same ages. Even though Emma and Holdyn cried for each other if they went 1 day without seeing each other, they had a love hate relationship. One day they played and played so nice and just hugged each other like there was no tomorrow. Other day they fought like cats and dogs and tattled on one another after hitting each other, jerking toys away, etc. They were truly inseperable.

 Emma loved carrying Hadley around!
 Play doh time!

We recently got them together like the 'old days'. They all had dinner together, followed by a bubble bath!

Last week Ellen had some time off right before Christmas so we decided to get the kiddos together for breakfast. This particular day was one of their 'love hate' days. A little old lady sitting next to us told me "You know, one day they will probably get married!"

Wylie and Hadley have gotten SO big since they first started playing together!
It has been so fun watching them grow up together. At least we don't live too far where we can still get them together but I so miss being so close to them when we were able to just walk right next door!

The prophet....

Holdyn had his school program this morning. This is his first year at this school, hence the first Christmas program here for us, so we really didn't know what to expect. All week I have been asking Holdyn what he would be doing (last year they just sang a song).... he refused to tell me and told me it was a 'surprise'.

Holdyn and one of his best friends in his class, Ezra.

Turns out, it was a whole 'play'. They each had a 'part'. The 2 year old class were the sheep and they came down the aisle with their 'baaaas'. The Pre-K class got to have the 'main' roles. Holdyn was a prophet. He shoulda been an angel cause boy did he do an amazing job (compared to last year!!). Last year I had to hide behind a column just so he would sing 1 song. This year, he walked down when his part was called all by himelf. He stood at the front with everyone, sang every song and did all of the motions. I was so proud! Funniest part was during the middle of the program he kept looking at his Toy Story watch (that he refused to take off) to see what time it was... Ha!!

Holdyn's teacher and the director, Ms. Debbie. We love her!

Hadley was in no mood to take a family picture so she is missing in this one!

Hadley intently watched her big brother perform! I told her to watch the sheep closely cause next year she will be in the 2 year old class and that would be her role!

It was so packed. Once the majority of the people had cleared out, Holdyn loved carrying Hadley around showing her off to everybody. He even carried her and introduced her to who her teacher will be next year!! It is the same teacher that tries to put Ezra in my car everyday (his mom and I have the same car). She said at least next year she wouldn't get confused and would give me the right child everyday :)

A sick lovie.....

makes for one very sad momma :(
baby sister doesn't feel like herself. She is clingy and fussy. When Hadley cries, there is something wrong. Poor thing has the 'Savannah Crud' as the doctor said. Lots of nasty coughing, a swollen red throat, etc. makes for fun times around here. I was at the doctor yesterday for a regular check up and had a fever. They thought I was there for a sick appointment! They are afraid I may be getting what she has. Holdyn had it last week and gave it to her. It's something that just has to 'run it's course'....
