Loose Change

What do most children do with their money? Well most children have piggy banks. Any coins the kids find, or any dollar bills they get for valetines day or halloween or 'just because', they put their money in their piggy bank. Most normal piggy banks look like this.............
Hadley knows what a piggy bank is. As we were out in public today, we passed a fire hydrant and she pointed to it and started screaming "PIGGY BANK!! PIGGY BANK!!!" Oh my gosh I am SO glad no one was around because they would think I was a crazy mother for not teaching my child what a piggy bank is. Funny thing is, she was right, a fire hydrant CAN be a piggy bank!! Remember since HoHo is a fireman, do you think he has a normal pig as a piggy bank? Of course... does he use it?? Heck no!! Guess what kind of piggy bank he has..........
You guessed it! He has a fire hydrant piggy bank, just like any devoted fireman would have!! Smart baby girl knows that fire hydrants are piggy banks, too!!

Caught.....

In the act..............

and then this mean mama made her clean it up..............
Seriously, can I EVER be productive and get anything done??!!! NEVER!!!

Busy Bees...

Hard at work in the yard at MooMa and DooDas!!

Whos crazy kid is this?!!

Hunting 101

HoHo LOVES going to the cabin with Pops. Usually they are busy fishing, doing yard work, burning leaves, riding around the property, camping out in sleeping backs, and of course looking for any kind of animals. This is the first year he got to 'hunt'. Pop got him his first gun and he has become an avid hunter. You should see him tip toe through the grass trying to be quiet to sneak up on his prey!
 yard work!

 Fishing off the dock

On the 'Gator' headed out on the property ready to hunt!

More yard work!! Burning the leaves and debri from the property

He LOVES staying in a hotel on the way home to break up the trip! Firedog of course had to go along for the road trip!

And for some added cuteness......
It's police officer Hadley!!! Watch out!

Well I tried.....

Well I might get an "A" for effort but I sure do get an "F" for the outcome!! We decided to make this cute little 'tree' for the month of February and Valentine's Day for Holdyn's class... The top is all hear shaped marshmellows in a flower pot surround by the little heart candy sayings. Looks adorable right?!..............

Until the thing starts dropping marshmellows one by one. They are secured in there very good with a toothpick put the durn things kept falling! I was so mad cause I thought it was so cute and I knew Holdyn's teacher would LOVE it!! Robbie said think of it as a 'Fall' tree since all of the marshmellows kept falling and I would find them in piles around the pot.... ha!

So we had to put our thinking caps on and come up with something else. Much more simple and plain but it is gonna have to work!! Maybe we can perfect the marshmellow tree for next year!

Now, yes, I know I am a little early on this one (ok a lot early) but when I get motivated, you can't stop me! I had everything out already working on the Valentine's Day project so I decided to whip up the "Teacher Appreciation Day" happy. This turned out SO cute (at least I think!!)

It is a vase filled with ABC magnets, I tied on 2 packages of sunflower seeds, and the card says: "Teachers plant the seeds of knowledge that will grow FOREVER" .... cheesy ok but with the sunflower seeds attached.... you have to admit it's pretty cute!!

I already know exactly what I am making for Easter and it does involve a 'tree', but I am determined it will NOT be a flop..... stay tunned... it is going to be adorable !!

My father.....

Melts my heart!

Holdyn has had an awesome week behavioral wise (knock on wood!). It is so nice when he is pleasant. It makes us all pleasant! He and Hadley have had their 'normal' sibiling spats, but overall, we have had a calm good week! He loves going in to our office to draw or to play board games. Their little art table is in there so that is where most of his 'creations' are drawn. I went to the office tonight and found this on my desk.....................
It just about melted my heart!! Until this school year, he would just scribble. Here recently, he is starting to actually 'draw' things. He has gotten pretty good at trucks! This is our first 'family potrait drawing'... there are 2 extra dogs I noticed. I am assuming they are his 2 'sparky' dogs that he sleeps with (they are dalmations... his fire dogs!) I will have to confirm that in the morning when he wakes up!

These 2 also melt my heart.........

These 2 can also usually find a way to melt your heart....
(They really do love each other!)

I think it melted daddys heart when princess fell asleep in his lap. She is so busy these days, it's very rare when she will slow down and sit in your lap (much less sleep in your lap!)

Hadley is having a hard time seperating her self from some of her baby equipment. She is doing much better until she saw me carrying one of the bouncers to my car. She about had a heart attack and screamed "MINE!!" I set it down in the living room and figured I needed to wait until nap time or bed time to make it disappear...... well, somebody else had other plans!! Look who has been living in the bouncer 24/7 this week!!!

Flashback

As I was looking around for dads camera chip (Holdyn, where did you put it?!!) I stumbled upon an old chip of ours. Don't know why they haven't gotten put in  your photo log yet but I had to show you a few. Can't believe how fast my babies are growing!!

In a split second....

the plans for my day can go flying out the window. With small children, you never know when they will get sick or get hurt. Today was a 'hurt' day. A simple walk (or run) to the mail box turned in to an ER visit, which meant mommy having to cancel a meeting and a doctor appointment and for daddy to delay his travels!

2 days ago........

1 day ago.......

Today.... in the ER.... BAM!!
Mean driveway!! I was just trying to go to the mailbox with my daddy!!

Spaghetti Sauce......

Hadley has always had pasta and parmesean cheese. She has never had spaghetti sauce. Her diet pretty much mimics Holdyn's.... very limited! Holdyn 'goes out on a limb' and some nights has the 'red sauce' on his pasta. We put it on Hadley's tonight for the first time...........

Holdyn was chowing down and Hadley was just playing with hers and stirring her bowl!!

Hadley decided that the spaghetti sauce was NOT for her! Look at that face!

She is pretty cute though... even if she didn't want to have dinner!

The 'crew'.... they all 4 keep me very busy everyday!!
