Sunday Funday!

We had no plans today (even though we have 10 million things to do to get ready for Auntie's wedding and the low country boil that is at our house on Friday for... sit down.... 62 people... YES, 62!!) but Holdyn was being Holdyn and getting antsy so we knew we needed to get out of the house for a little bit. We decided to head over the 'big bridge', as Holdyn says, and go see PawPaw and GiGi since they are about to go on a cruise and not see the kids for a little while.

Sister talked the entire way there as loud as she could. She was screaming MAMA!! BABA!! She was soooo happy (like usual) and Holdyn loved playing with her and singing songs to her. I think sister will be our child who gets in trouble for talking so much at school. She loves to talk all the time and is so verbal and loud at only 8 months! Is this not the cutest and happiest baby you have EVER seen!!

Holdyn loves PawPaw taking him on golf cart rides when we go to Sun City. We were headed to the playground and to get ice cream but the ice cream store was closed :(. To soften the blow, we rode by the firehouse. You know that made my lil Fireman happy and helped him forget about the ice cream (notice he is wearing his fireman boots!)

Here is our attempt at a 'self portrait' in the rear view mirror of the golf cart... lol. Honey's face is dismembered since he was lined up with one of the 'cracks' but he was laughing at me while I was trying to get this picture. He says I am 'unique' and 'strange'. I don't know if I should take offense to that or take that as a compliment!

PawPaw enjoyed watching HoHo at the playground!

HoHo made daddy play on the seasaw with him f-o-r-e-v-e-r! They climbed on the fort and played on the slide and had a great time. I think this daddy should win the daddy of the year award!! Sister stayed home to play with GiGi and MooMa. She was a good girl and enjoyed some quality girl time with her MooMa and GiGi without Holdyn intruding!

I can wait!

Holdyn insisted that he stay up last night and wait for daddy to come home so he could say goodnight. He tried to get in my bed, but we comprimised on watching cartoons on a palet on the living room floor. I got him set up and walked out of the room. Within 2 minutes he was sound asleep!! Poor thing had good intentions but he just couldn't make it!

Aquarium

Heather (Emma and Wiley's nanny) and I took the kids to the Skidaway aquarium yesterday. They had a blast seeing all of the fish, turtles, and seahorses. They enjoyed running down the nature trails and holding hands. We walked on the pier and they got to see the water and boats. They had a blast and the babies had fun getting out getting some fresh air!

Emma is 2 months younger than Holdyn, and Wiley is 2 months younger than Hadley

Emma will be going to Holdyn's pre-school this year! YAY! They won't be in the same class (which is good since they play so much at home) but we will carpool.

They were both sleepy and ready for a nap!

Look who I found standing in their crib yesterday after nap time :)

Sleep with me!

HoHo made Pops sleep with him on Wednesday night. He said girls are not allowed in his room anymore so Pops had to handle the important job!

Reality

Reality is about to hit home and momma is starting to get kinda sad. A good kind of sad I guess you could say. Holdyn is starting Pre-K on September 8th. He is such a big boy. It seems just like yesterday when were in Peachtree City being induced. On the way to the hospital daddy had to stop at a store to get a part for the computer so he could work from the hospital. I was looking obviously very pregnant and Robbie told the lady we were on the way to the hospital. She about had a heart attack. She thought I was in labor and we casually were shopping! MawMaw, Pops, MooMa and DoDa drove up the next morning to wait for the big arrival. After being in labor for 24 hours and could not progress past 3cm, a C-section was decided that was the best and safest way to bring our big headed baby into the world!

This is Dr. Matthew Ralsten who delivered Holdyn. We couldn't have made it through that pregnancy without him! He helped us get through all of our pre-eclampsia issues and helped us end up with a beautiful baby boy! That last month of pregnancy, when I was feeling all out of whack with my very high blood pressure, I think we were at his office more than we were at home!

Holdyn will be going to school 5 days a week this year compared to the 3 days that he went last year. He will only go from 9-12 though so that will be good to get him adjusted to the full week schedule and not overwhelm him too much just yet with full days. I know next year will probably be much harder.. on me.. I'm not worried about him at all! Next year he will go to a big elementary school and he will go from 9-3. Momma and sister will be lost without our buddy! His Pre-K teacher has already told him that he is NOT allowed to wear his fire suit to school this year. We have been talking about it all summer and reminding him so it's not a big shock on the first day of school. So far he seems to be ok with it. He has worn it all summer and can wear it when he gets home from school so hopefully he will be satisified with that. I bet his teacher can guess what he is planning to be for Halloween :)

Where has my baby boy gone?! He is so big and grown up now! I know he needs this and he will have so much fun and do great. I know sister probably needs this time also to have a few quiet hours a day for some one on one time with just mommy. I also just signed up to start attending MOPS (Mothers of Pre-schoolers). They meet twice a month right around the corner from our house so I am excited for sister and I to go and meet some other moms and babys :)

8 months old

Sister had her 8 month old well baby check up yesterday. She weighs 17.1 pounds and she is 27.5 inches tall! She is growing like a weed and is right on track with all of her growth and development!

Why didn't they have peditrician offices like this when we were kids?!

Scooter

This baby is on the move! It's amazing to look back at Holdyn's baby book to see the differences of both kids. Holdyn didnt crawl until almost 11 months old (He was glued to mommas hip!) and here is sister not quite 8 months old and she is on the move...big time!! She is EVERYWHERE! Nothing is safe!! I put her in her boppy with a bottle in the living room and 2 seconds later she is down the hall and in Holdyn's room. She LOVES big brothers room and all the cool toys in there. Brother can't stand her being in his room. We are gonna have to put up some gates this weekend when daddy gets home!

The kids have a new game. When sister gets in brothers room he runs over and drags her across the house to get her out! She seems to enjoy the ride, and my floors get dusted!

Last week we took a trip to 'Monkey Joes'. It was our first time and I wasn't that impressed, but it can be an occassional treat. Holdyn was thrilled that we won a dinosaur in one of the games. It only took momma two tries!! He was one happy boy!
