Say Cheese!!!

Holdyn had school pictures today. He looked so handsome! His teacher said he was soooo cute but that the outfit was just 'not him'. I asked what she meant. She said he was so clean, pressed, and proper looking and that was just NOT Holdyn! He was always in comfortable clothes and getting down and dirty! They said right after the pictures he was stripping naked asking for help to change his clothes! He is growing up so fast!

Sweet sister ready to take brother to school!

                                                                 How cute are they?!
Mommy and baby sister! She has been missing her daddy though! I have heard LOTS of DADADADA!!
I asked Holdyn how he smiled for his pictures and he said.. I smiled like this!!!

Baby Hyres!

Hyres is getting lots of love in the Udinsky household!
He loves laying under the kitchen table

Holdyn hugs him all day long!

and carries him around... he will never have to walk again with Holdyn around!

still trying to get the hang of chasing balls!

Sister and Bay watching Hyres and Holdyn play outside!

We got all kinds of fun dog toys but Hyres prefers the baby toys!

He LOVES baby sister... but she is not to thrilled with him yet. He loves to bite her feet when she is crawling!

Holdyn is trying to teach her how to pet the new puppy!
Hyres is still doing great at potty training. No accidents so far and he is doing great sleeping at night in the crate!

Introducing...

The Newest Member of Our Family!!!

Meet Hyers :)

He is going to be a big boy! We drove to Charleston yesterday to get him. So far, he is fitting right in! Doing great with potty training and slept all night in his crate without any crying! Knock on wood! We are hoping for another successful night. We are hoping Hyers can help us keep those big snakes out of the yard and away from the kids. I will be taking him to his first doggie check up on Monday morning!

How cute are these 2 little pirates?!

Hadley had her first whole piece of watermelon this week. She LOVED it and ate several pieces! It made a huge mess but it was worth it.

Fishy Heart Attack

Yes, it is very possible for a 3 year old to cause his young 26 year old mother to almost have a severe heart attack. Almost. I was hanging up laundry and he comes to my room to say he wanted to take his goldfish to school tomorrow. Out of the corner of my eye I see him holding something. My heart stopped. Holdyn saying he was taking his fish to school + him having something in his hand = not a good combo! He got a baggie, filled it with water, and caught one of his goldfish and put that poor thing in the baggie to haul off to school....tomorrow!! It was 'Rob' the goldfish if you were curious which one he had chosen! I bet poor Rob was about to have a heart attack also! My pulse and blood pressure are still a little high at the moment. Momma needs a vacation from this wild and crazy little workerman!

Sweet baby sister has cut her first tooth! If you look real closely, you might be able to see it on the front bottom left. It's just really sharp right now as just a point of it has broken through the gum. I'm sure in the next few days we will be able to see more of it! Poor thing was up several times Saturday night in pain from teething. A few teething tablets and she is feeling much better! She is ready for a T-bone steak now!

Fridge Raid!

It has been fun seeing everyone's 'fridge raid' so I thought I would play along and let you peek in to mine :)

Here it is in all of it's glory... the big shiny box!

The full view!!

The first shelf: Cranberry juice, orange juice, coke, milk, baby sisters milk and juice and baby food left over from last nights dinner!

Second shelf is just cokes and sprites! The drawer is filled with lots of cheese, tomatos, boiled eggs, sandwich meat, and slice and bake cookies we are supposed to make for the firefighters!

Next shelf is butter, sour cream, blueberries, applesauce and salad
The last shelf is Bud Light... lots and lots of it! And Chicken Spaghetti.. last night dinner (yum!)
The door is just filled with normal condiments so I won't bore you with that!
Happy Thursday everyone!

Top doggie mom

Mr. R thinks I don't like his dog (Holdyn will argue with you until he turns blue that it is HIS dog, not daddys dog!) Maybe at one time, the dog and I did not get along. She would be perfect when Mr. R was home, but the second he walked out the door, she would be horrible. It's like a step child that is trying to get under the step mothers skin. Bay would just stare at me like she was saying 'Haha.. there is nothing you can do about it!' Ever since she has become 'firedog', she has completely changed. No more pacing around waiting for daddy to come home,no more eating my clothes,no more accidents.. it was really on purpose though, no more constant barking, etc. She now sleeps with Holdyn every night. They wake up together every morning, they go potty together, they play together, they eat together, and they fight fires together. She puts up with him stepping on her, pulling her hair and tail, and gives plenty of horsie rides to a rowdy 3 year old. She also loves going on car rides to take him to school and when we pick him up. Bay was confused this summer and she would wait by the door just waiting to go for our ride to school! They are inseperable. It wasn't love at first sight until Holdyn took on the very important role of fire fighting. Occasionally when we are out I let Holdyn pick out a treat for her. Yesterday I was out running errands with baby sister and I picked up a pack of raw hides for firedog all on my own free will. I'm such a good firedog mommy! Be proud... be very proud!

Bay sitting pretty waiting for her treat! I think she might kinda like me now :)

It's the thought that counts

I am the morning person in this family. Dad is not! I am the primary parent in the mornings getting Holdyn dressed for school, feeding both kids breakfast, etc. Dad is usually still in bed, but when he is home, he usually is more of a helper at night before bed. I am the complete opposite. Talk to me all you want in the morning but at night when I am tired, do not talk to me! Holdyn is a lot like daddy and is very grumpy when he first wakes up. Last week daddy was on vacation so we all got some quality time with him. We had a blast just hanging out and playing and we even got to squeeze in a date while the kids spent the night out one night! I let Mr. R sleep in everyday except on Friday. Thursday night I told him that Friday was my day to sleep in, and he was in charge of the morning routine and getting Holdyn ready for school. Friday morning rolls around and dad had it pretty easy. Holdyn decided he wasn't hungry and didn't want breakfast. Both of our kids aren't big breakfast people. If they do eat in the morning, it has to be at least an hour or more after they wake up. Daddys only task was to get Holdyn dressed. This is how Holdyn walked out all ready to go to school....

Poor thing! Daddy really did think this matched! Men! I tell ya! It was the thought that counted though... he tried!! Mommy just put a new pair of shorts on him and off we went! If I ever go out of town without the kids, I guess I will have to set out their sets of clothes all labeled with what goes with what and when they should wear it before I leave. We love our daddy for trying!

Welcome to the Family......

Holdyn is the proud new owner of 2 very chubby gold fish! He has been asking for several months to have a fish. We figured this would be the perfect bribe if he walked Auntie down the aisle. After a few tears and some coaxing, he did his job perfect and he now has 'Rob' and 'AK'. He named them after our 2 best friends, Rob and AK! Original, I know! This week at school the children have been learing about dinosaurs. I found this cute little dino for fish tanks and thought Holdyn would love that! Every morning before Holdyn even comes out of his room, he will feed Rob and AK and tell them good morning. He knows we only feed them a little bit and he has been doing a great job. He went over the weekend to stay with Pops and MawMaw and he was VERY worried about who would take care of his goldfish. I told him I would watch them for him but I got strict instructions that I was NOT allowed to feed them, only he had earned that responsibility.

I have a hard time keeping plants alive so lets see if I'm any better at raising goldfish! Shouldn't be too hard, right?! At least they don't talk back!

Traditions

Yesterday we took the kids, and friends out to lunch and then to Chuck-E-Cheese. A fun treat after finishing the first week of school! I think we will try to make it a 'tradition' to do something fun that the kids want to do every year the first week back to school.

Wiley and Hadley having some cheerios and puffs at the Mexican restaurant! Wiley is 2 months younger than Hadley.

Emma and Holdyn at Chuck-E-Cheese. These 2 fight like cats and dogs one second, and the next second they are hugging each other and playing. Holdyn asks every morning as soon as he wakes up if Emma can come over to play. They go to school together and play together every afternoon!! They are inseperable.

Wiley and Hadley playing together. Sister loves 'talking' to him and pulling his hair! We are trying to teach Wiley self defense! Hadley is trying to teach him to crawl!

Standing like a pro!

We don't like changes!

Holdyn had a rough day at school today. 'Overwhelmed' would be an appropriate word. When a child who thrives on routine, structure, stability, and a familiar environment has been thrown in to unfamiliar territory, there will be an adjustment period that we will have to help him get through. When he got home I thought some one on one daddy time would cure everything! Holdyn has really been in to legos since Auntie got him a new lego firetruck set last week (more on that later). Robbie had a box of legos in the attic that were his when he was a little boy. We had them put away until Holdyn was old enough to play with all of the little pieces. Today was the perfect day to pull that out! Daddy helped Holdyn build all kinds of cool things! We are positive for a better school day tomorrow! Fridays are show and tell days so HoHo is very excited to take in his lego firetruck and rescue boat to show his friends and teachers!

From the teacher...

Holdyn's teacher just emailed me some pictures so I thought I would share them :)

Holdyn is the 3rd child in the picture wearing a bright blue shirt with an ambulance and firetruck on it (Shocker, right?!)

The Sappy Train

Can't you tell that school is back in session?! I was a much less frequent poster during the summer chasing the kids. When Holdyn is at school and sister is down for her morning nap, that is usually my blogging time. HoHo doesn't take naps anymore so my summer posts were less frequent. By time the kids are in bed, the last thing I want to do is blog. I usually try to head to bed pretty soon after I tuck the babies in bed! I bet you are begging for Summer to come back around so I won't talk as much :)

Since I was all sappy last week with sending my big boy off to pre-k, I figured I better wrap up the sappiness with some pictures of how big baby sister has gotten.

36 weeks pregnant

Monday, December 7th, 2009. We met our beautiful baby girl at 11:51 a.m.

Our sweet ball of sunshine! She wakes up smiling and she goes to sleep smiling. She is truly the happiest baby ever! She loves her big brother and daddy and she gets so excited when she sees other babies!

Our Journey

3 years, 9 months and 11 days ago, our life completely changed... forever. We embarked on a journey as new parents. Yesterday, we started a new chapter of our journey as we sent our sweet little boy off to his first day of Pre-K.

The first picture of our 37week 4day old baby. He let us know he was the one in charge from the first day of the pregnancy! Not much has changed since then!

Right after our C-section, we had our first family picture. This is the first time I got to hold Holdyn, and this is the first and only time I have ever seen Mr. R cry.

I never thought it was possible to love someone so much as we love this little guy. He made us from a couple into a family. He has taught us that we truly can survive on practically no sleep. He has tested our patience, pushed our buttons, and ignores boundaries. He is hard-headed, stubborn, and LOUD but this is what makes Holdyn the fierce ball of energy that melts our heart!

Happy first day of Pre-K HoHo! We love you!

Firedog is thrilled that summer is over. She really missed her daily car rides to take Holdyn to school!

Sister is also excited summer is over. She is glad to have some QUIET one on one time with mommy!

Pre-K = Homework

We had Holdyn's Pre-K open house today and he was sent home with... Homework!! You heard that right. My almost 4 year old has homework! So we were sent home with this....

and we were supposed to make it in to Holdyn. I just assumed we would be making this into a fireman, knowing Holdyn. I was pretty surprised when he told me we were NOT making it in to a fireman. He decided we would make him a police officer. It took all afternoon to gather our materials and to get our creative juices going. Daddy said that a Pre-K homework assignment should NOT have taken as long as this took us, but we had fun doing it together. Here is our final product....

How cute is that?! We made sure Officer Udinsky had handcuffs, a walkie talkie, and a name badge. Holdyn was very upset I wouldn't let him put a gun on the belt, but I didn't think that would be too appropriate for school.

HoHo is pretty excited to take his homework tomorrow for the first day of Pre-K!

After meeting the teacher and assistant, Holdyn got to go put his handprint on the fence right by the new playground equipment.

Sister had so much fun swinging on the new playground. She is 9 months old today and was passed around like a sack of potatos! Everyone was so excited to see her and hold her and loved seeing how much she had grown over the summer. She will get to go to this school next year in September!
